Putty
Installation on Windows Vista and Windows 7
To get around
the Windows Vista and Version 7 security, Putty cannot be directly installed by clicking on the link. You must "Right-Click" the link and select "Save".
Then, once downloaded, open the folder it was saved to and "Right-Click" the putty-xp2.exe program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.
Windows 7 - Settings changes Recommended:
1. Control Panel -> System & Security -> Power Options -> "Change when the Computer Sleeps" - Change to "Never" - Since going into Sleep Mode causes login disconnection from the ProCom server.
2. (In the Same sceeen) Go to "Advanced Settings" -> Change the "Power buttons on lid" -> "Sleep button Action" to "Do Nothing" for the same reason as the previous setting change.
